April Membership Meeting with Learning from Past Gardening Experiences

7:00 p.m.  Refreshments and networking

7:30 p.m.  Project announcements

8:00 p.m.  Gail Morrell with Learning from the Past

Start your gardening season with observations from the past. Every year professional gardener Gail Morrell learns new things, both good and bad, about plants, pests and tools. Gail will share insights on both problems to avoid and successes to build on, along with her extensive knowledge of gardening. MGAWC members will remember Gail and her passion for garden maintenance, especially weeding. Gail always shares practical tips and suggestions for optimum results.

In 1991, Gail became a Master Gardener and established a garden maintenance company. A professional gardener for twenty-some years, she has worked as the head gardener on several estates and is currently the landscape manager for a gated community in Bloomfield Hills. She was an instructor and Practical Gardening Trainer at the Michigan School of Gardening, active in the Association of Professional Gardeners, and a past president of the Troy Garden Club.

Please note:  In an effort to encourage gardeners to sign up for annual MGAWC membership ($15 US a year, October 1-September 30), the board has decided to charge guests $5 with the hope of incentivizing guests to upgrade to become members. UM-D students are exempted from the guest fee.
