Tollgate grounds are open to the public daily EXCEPT most Sundays

Garden Open House - Tollgate Farm and Education Center (msu.edu)

Visitors are welcome to wander among the many gardens tended by Tollgate volunteers. Tollgate garden areas include arboretum, children's, constructed wetlands, demo, dry river bed/shade, enabling, heritage, hosta, rain, rock ledge, rose, and xerascape. Garden volunteers will share information about the farm and gardens.

This is a free parking and free admission, rain or shine event. The evening open house will include light refreshments and hayrides. Severe weather date is Friday, July 18, 2025.

Photos are encouraged. Please no grilling, no pets, and no alcohol. 

The open house will include some guided walks and short talks. In past years, subjects have included prairie garden plants in the children's garden, the rain garden, beekeeping, and plant division in the hosta garden.
