Master Gardener Training Course, 14 weeks, at Wayne County Community College District, Western Campus, 9555 Haggerty, Belleville
Monday evenings, 6-10 p.m., January 23-April 24, 2017
Cost: $300 includes 1,000-page training manual (check or credit card accepted)
Class requirments include attending all training sessions, completing all open book quizes and final exam with an overall score of at least 80%. Trainees may be required to undergo a criminal background check before volunteering.
After completing the training, trainees must complete 40 hours of approvedhorticulture-related volunteer service within one year to earn certification. After the initial certifying year, MSU Extension requires paying a $20 annual recertification fee, reporting of 5 self-funded education and 15 voluneer hours, and completing a three-step on-line recertification process.
