Introduction to Gardening
MGAWC is pleased to offer FREE INTRODUCTORY gardening classes to the community as part of its mission to distribute current research-based gardening information.

Introduction to Gardening is designed for gardening NOVICES.  The topics and approach to the material covered will be geared toward BEGINNING gardeners.  MGAWC members are encouraged to promote this educational opportunity among friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and other NEW gardeners.

Introduction to Gardening sessions are free and do not require any pre-registration.  Just show up.  Bring a pen and paper to take notes.

Upcoming classes will be presented at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) on the campus of The University of Michigan–Dearborn on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm and consist of a presentation followed by an extensive question/answer session.  EIC is in the northwest corner of campus.  Park in the only parking structure on campus or in lot C.  Click here for a map and directions.

2008 Introduction to Gardening Classes
The first class–Starting Seeds–will be taught by Leroy Wolff on Wednesday, April 16.  LeRoy will discuss planting seeds–what works and what doesn’t, and will explain some of the many different ways to get things to grow using basic rules.  Questions are expected and encouraged.  Leroy is an Advanced Master Gardener and MGAWC member.

Additional dates for the 2008 season will be posted here soon.  Visit us again for dates and details, and join us for a successful 2008 gardening year.
