Dennis Groh
Dennis Groh, a gardening enthusiast of 30 years, lives on a one-acre lot
("Groh Gardens") with islands beds containing several thousand different
plant species and cultivars.
Photographs of Groh Gardens have been featured in the Detroit Free Press and
in Adrian Bloom’s 2002 publication
Gardening with
Conifers. In 2005, Dennis was filmed twice for Rebecca’s Garden
(HGTV). The first segment was on dwarf conifers at Hidden Lake Gardens and
the second on Japanese Maples he grows at his home.
Dennis has been a member of the Conifer Society since 1992, a member of the
Board of Directors since 1999 and served as its president from 2002-2004.
He is also a member of the Hardy Plant Society. Dennis has been a Master
Gardener and Advanced Master Gardener since 1995. He completed the Longwood
Gardens Certificate of Merit for Conifers in 1998. He has lectured in
Michigan on Conifers, Rhododendrons and fall color, and has had several
articles published in the Conifer Quarterly.
