On Tuesday evening, our March speaker, Orin Gelderloos, Ph.D., Professor of Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, will be narrating the Rouge Cruise on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. This Friends of the Rouge event begins with boarding the Diamond Belle at 5:45 p.m. at Stroh River Place in Detroit to explore an urban river from 6-8:30 p.m.
After departing from Stroh River Place, we will travel downstream and under the Ambassador Bridge before turning to head up the Rouge River. We will travel upstream in the Rouge as far as the turning basin at the Ford Rouge Complex before returning to dock at Stroh River Place.
Reservations are required. Tickets are $50 per person before July 11 ($55 after July 11) and include dinner with soft drinks. There is a cash bar on the three-level boat with interior and exterior space. The Stroh River Place dock is at the end of Joseph Campau Street, just past where it intersects with Atwater Street. Parking near the dock is $5.
